The
continuous growth of the Internet has brought
about drastic and widespread changes to our social,
economic and cultural structures. |
 |
 |
 |
In view of this significant
trend, many concerned individuals ─ primarily
the executive staff of the Internet Association
of Japan (IAJ) including myself ─ have started
to exchange information, opinions and ideas on
the necessity of creating private research agencies
to help the Internet be major infrastructure of
society, where they examine, analyze and foresee
the socioeconomic chaneges in the next generation's
network structure. We believe it is imperative
to establish Internet researchers networks, where
a much wider spectrum of various Internet-related
areas should be covered, in addition to the technical
aspects of the Internet. |
